Arkansas is the member of the so called „Deep South” region. There are three other members: Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi. The more than 50 thousand square miles of land is split into two by the Mississippi River. It spreads from the Appalachian Mountain from the East to the Great-Plain in the West. It’s a sparsely populated region, and has agricultural characteristics with beautiful historical traditions and a sub-tropical climate.

Arkansas, the Natural State, is sparsely populated, and it doesn’t have especially large cities at all. However, its nature is fascinating, wooded mountains, valleys and fertile plains switch each other. Its two mountains, the Ouachita and the Ozark are separated by the Arkansas River. The state is primarily famous for 3 things: Bill Clinton, the former president was born and brought up in Arkansas; the headquarters of Wal-Mart, the world’s largest chain store is situated in the state; and it is also famous for its extreme sports.

Its largest city is Little Rock, which is split into two by the Arkansas River. It’s worth to check out the Old State House State History Museum, which introduces the visitors to the history of the state. The city was the scene of the acts of civil rights of the black people in the ’50-ties.
Eureka Springs is a Christian memorial place, for the second largest statue of Christ; The Christ of the Ozarks Statue is located here. There are high-level, musical performances organized in the Ozark Folk Center State Park, which is found in the nearby Ozark Mountain.

Hot Springs, the city famous for its natural hot water is found at the Southern leg of the Hot Springs Mountain. Many hotels with spas are at the service of the visitors, who want to have a rest after their labors.
