Just like Minnesota, the Western neighbor, Wisconsin also has several thousand smaller and larger lakes. It is bordered by the Mississippi River on the West, Lake Superior on the North and Lake Michigan on the East. It would be pointless to search for higher highland territories in the state, since the majority of the state is a flatland. The density of the population decreases when heading from South to North. The Northern territories are sparsely populated; the area is covered with larger forests. There’s only one large city in the state, which is Milwaukee, and there are several smaller cities too, including Madison, the capital. The tourism of the state is rather significant, and its artistic coastline attracts a lot of tourists especially in the summer.

Milwaukee is the commercial, financial, cultural and industrial center of the state. The city is also famous for its brewery. It is the home of the second largest brewery in the USA, the Miller Brewing Company. It’s worth to visit the famous museums of the city: the Milwaukee Public Museum, the Milwaukee County Historical Society, and the Milwaukee War Memorial and Art Museum, where we might find altering artistic collections and historical exhibitions as well. There are several higher educational institutions in the city, like the University of Milwaukee, the Marquette University and the Cardinal Stitch University.

The capital of the state is Madison, which lies between Lake Monona and Lake Mendota. The city is the administrative center of the state, and also the home of the University of Wisconsin. It’s worth to visit the beautiful building of the Wisconsin State Capitol; it has a 60 meters tall cupola.
