The most famous building of Washington D. C. is the White House, known by millions of people all over the world. It is the official residence of the prevailing president. The constructions began at the end of the 18th century, and the first president to move in was John Adams in 1800. During the years, the building was altered, they’d built two wings to it (Eastern and Western wings), and it’s got its final shape in 1942. The White House is furnished with valuable furniture and paintings and statues. It is open for tourists as well.
